Elon in New York City is a 9-week opportunity for students to intern and study in the Big Apple. The program dates for Elon in New York City 2015 are May 30 to August 1.

The program is open to all majors, who will earn six hours of credit while onsite in New York City.

Opportunities for internships exist across broad areas, including, but not limited to, companies and businesses that support all aspects of the arts, such as casting, marketing, public relations, advertising, investments, banking, as well as news and entertainment journalism. We have contacts from decades of supervising internship sites in New York City. As well as hundreds of alumni and Elon parents in the area who will mentor students enrolled in the program and provide critical networking and professional advice.

Additionally, students will enroll in an exciting 4-hour course: The Streets of NYC. This course is as an upper-level general studies course. The class engages students to consider the historical, cultural, economic and social impact of New York City through an experiential educational experience. Four faculty members from across campus will teach the course, take students on behind the scenes tours, and experience the streets of New York City.

All students participating in the Elon in New York City program will be required to live in housing contracted by the University. All rooms are fully furnished and have internet connectivity. Students from several universities also use this facility and allow for students to interact with other students studying and interning in New York City.

  1. This program sounds amazing! I’m an Elon alumni, and I would have loved to have participated in a program like this one. After graduating from Elon I moved to New York city and worked at Edelman Public Relations. Everything I learned from my teachers and peers at the school of communications prepared me for such a great experience. I’m so proud to learn my school is doing this.
